This game has a retro feel in play as well as graphics but it's fun because it's different. It was developed by the same company that did the Big Kahuna Reef games. So if you liked them you'll like this one too. it has a relaxed mode which I always appreciate.
Good, fairly mindless match 3 game, the flowers explode in a satisfying shower of petals, can be played in relaxed mode (which I appreciate!). The story-line is terrible though, what little of it there is ... it's told in "journal entries" by the young Monarch King, and simply makes no sense. Usual nonsense about an evil wizard covering the butterfly glade in amber, then there's a switch to a castle (huh, what castle, where did that come from?), more vaguely Celtic mumbo-jumbo ... so if you're looking to become involved in the story -- well, fuggedaboudit. But if you just want to chill and blow up some flowers, then this is your game.
This one can be fun for anyone. The trick is to keep making matches in unmatched spots to keep the meter rising.
This is a basic M3 with swapping tiles, chains, double chains, and a single rechargeable power up, but what makes this simple game a bit more interesting are the explosion shields! You get them positioned in just the right locations, and POW, they blow everything! Yes, I love the explosions! A good game for those times when you don't want to have to think too hard, just have fun!
As another reviewer pointed out, the story is disjointed and makes no sense. However, for me, the quality of the match 3 challenges were so good that it kind of balanced out the story aspect. I was straight-up addicted to this game for a while, so if you like match 3's, be warned! :-) The explosions really do explode with a satisfying sound, and the puzzles get more and more difficult as you progress. If they made a sequel to this, I would buy it in a heartbeat. I loved this game, and I hope you enjoy it, too.
